SCF Grand Sud Chemistry Symposium

The Journées Grand Sud of the Société Chimique de France will be held from

3 to 5 december 2025 in Montpellier on the CNRS campus (route de Mende).

These scientific days are jointly organized by the Occitanie-Méditerranée section of the Société Chimique de France (SCF) and the Réseau régional des Jeunes Chimistes SCF. They are the result of the merger of two recurring events:

the Journées Grand Sud-Ouest (GSO), traditional meetings since 1992, organized alternately by the regional sections of Bordeaux, Pau, Toulouse and Montpellier.

the Journées Méditerranéennes des Jeunes Chercheuses et des Jeunes Chercheurs (JMJC), which have brought together young chemists from Montpellier to Nice every year since 2013.

Hence, participation by doctoral students will be free of charge.

The purpose of the “Journées SCF Grand-Sud - JMJC-GSO” is to encourage exchanges between researchers from neighboring regions, and to promote the research carried out in laboratories from Bordeaux to Nice in all areas of chemistry. They will provide an opportunity to discover the work of seven guest speakers, experts in fields as varied as biomass valorization, bioconjugation, battery materials, nanomedicine, polymer chemistry and analytical chemistry.

Some sixty oral communication slots, divided into two parallel sessions, are planned (see provisional program). The program also includes poster sessions.
